Chateau Laroque
The history of Château Laroque spans more than eight centuries. The first mentions of the estate date back to the 12th century, from which only small fragments of the tower remain. The château’s current appearance, renowned for its elegant architecture and gardens, was shaped in the 17th century by the Marquis de Rochefort‑Lavie.
For a long time, the estate remained in the hands of a single family, but in 1929, during the Great Depression, the owners could no longer maintain the property, and wine production was halted for several years. A new era began in 1935, when Château Laroque was acquired by the Beaumartin family, who have managed it ever since. In 1962, the vineyards were completely replanted and the cellars modernised.
The estate’s true renaissance began with the 2015 vintage. Extensive renovation work was carried out on the vineyards, the winery, and the château itself, allowing the wines to reach a new level of quality.
