Rouget Pere et Fils
The wines of the Rouget family have gained worldwide fame thanks to their unsurpassed quality. These rare beverages, distinguished by exceptional refinement, are produced in limited quantities, making them especially valuable for true connoisseurs.
A new chapter in the winery’s history opened in 2011 when Emmanuel’s sons — Guillaume and later Nicolas — joined the family business. Their initiative marked the beginning of a promising négociant project.
Guillaume pays special attention to lesser-known appellations in Burgundy, which often remain in the shadow of renowned wine-producing regions. Convinced of their potential, he strives to reveal their ability to produce outstanding wines.
The foundation of product quality lies in the meticulous selection of grapes purchased from like-minded winemakers who apply organic methods of vine cultivation.
The range of «Rouget Pere et Fils» includes both communal wines and prestigious Premier Cru. The red wine from the 1er Cru Les Vaucrains vineyard in Nuits-Saint-Georges deserves special mention. Despite the absence of Grand Cru in this area, Les Vaucrains has the potential to create outstanding wines with excellent aging potential.
The winemaking process in the cellar strictly follows the traditions established by Emmanuel. The grapes undergo delicate processing: complete separation from the stems, cold maceration before fermentation, which takes place in concrete vats. First-class oak barrels from the renowned cooper François Frères are used for aging, imparting a unique character to the wines.
