Pedro Parra

Pedro Parra is an outstanding forest engineer from Concepción who has followed an impressive professional development path. After earning his doctorate degree at the National Agronomic Institute in Montpellier and Paris, he dedicated 15 years to international consulting. In 2013, Pedro fulfilled his dream by establishing a family estate in the Bio-Bio region. This area, which has preserved its pristine nature and remained largely untouched by modern wine-making «innovations», proved to be ideal for his project. Here, on unique plots with sandy-quartz soils, ancient vines of the Cinsault and País varieties thrive. Pedro’s winery is a modest yet functional space resembling an aircraft hangar. The simplicity of the interior harmoniously blends with a pleasant atmosphere, where one can hear jazz music playing through a quality stereo system. For his profound knowledge of soils and terroirs, Pedro Parra earned the nickname «Terroir Doctor». He has established himself as a respected consultant who has worked with many prestigious wineries around the world. His role in the «New Chile» movement cannot be overstated — through his relentless efforts to introduce innovative approaches, search for outstanding terroirs, and develop new vineyards across the country, he has become one of the key figures in the modern Chilean wine industry.
