Mas Martinet

Mas Martinet holds an honorable position among the most celebrated and respected wineries in Spain, becoming a true symbol of the revival of the Priorat wine region’s greatness. The estate’s history began in 1989 when the outstanding Spanish enologist Josep Luis Pérez laid the foundation for producing exceptional quality wines. From its very first vintages, the winery’s products gained recognition among both professional critics and true wine connoisseurs worldwide. Mas Martinet wines have repeatedly received top ratings in national and international rankings, confirming their status as some of the best in Spain. It is noteworthy that every wine produced by the estate is released in strictly limited quantities. Today, the reins of the winery are in the hands of Sara Pérez, the founder’s daughter, who is rightfully considered one of Spain’s leading enologists. According to her, the secret of the wines’ unique richness lies in the exceptional terroir, where special slate-quartz Llicorella soils, a unique microclimate, and century-old vines of autochthonous Garnacha and Carinyena varieties come together. Striving to preserve the wine’s original nature, the estate abandoned the use of heavily toasted barriques in favor of larger barrels with light toasting. Additionally, an innovative vinification system was introduced, eliminating air contact. All Mas Martinet wines are produced in accordance with organic principles, making them not only outstanding in quality but also environmentally friendly.
