Domaine Eric Boigelot

Before settling in Meursault, Domaine Éric Boigelot has its roots slightly higher up the slope, in the village of Monthelie, where Éric Boigelot's great-grandfather created a wine estate covering 2 hectares in 1918. A few decades later, his grandson, Jacques Boigelot, took over the business, expanding the ancestral estate to 7 hectares covering the appellations of Meursault, Monthelie, Volnay, and Pommard. He then passed on to his son, Éric, all his knowledge of vine growing and winemaking. After several years of working in the family business, Éric Boigelot founded his own estate of 3.5 hectares in Monthelie in 1990. Then, in 1998, he settled in Meursault, where today he manages 9 hectares of vineyards planted with Aligoté, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir, spread across the same four villages. In 2022, it was his son Charles's turn to make his personal contribution to winemaking methods. Heir to the family know-how, he began learning the winemaker's trade at the age of 15, gaining experience in various places. Work at Domaine Coche-Dury, at Maison Vincent Girardin in Meursault, and at Domaine Paul Pillot in Chassagne-Montrachet allowed him to form his own production philosophy. For him, wine is primarily shaped by terroir and vintage, while the winemaker's role is to wisely guide its aging.
