Giacomo Fenocchio Barolo Bussia 2021 750ml

The aroma is multifaceted and generous. Dominant notes include pine, mint, clove, fresh leather, licorice, wild cherry, sage, pepper, violet, dried strawberry, and cinnamon. Later, deeper tones emerge—roasted coffee, iron, bay leaf, anise, and blood orange. The palate is full and dense, yet retains surprising elegance. A soft, silky attack leads to a generous fruit core with notes of dark cherry, plum, and raspberry. The acidity is lively and refreshing, the perfect counterpoint to the wine’s concentrated flesh. The tannins are dense, fine-grained, fully ripe (“sweet”), structured but not astringent. The finish is incredibly long, mineral, with a saline edge, graphite, and balsamic nuances.
