Vincent Girardin

The story of Maison Vincent Girardin began relatively recently. In 1980, at the age of 19, Vincent Girardin started producing wine from a 5-hectare vineyard he inherited from his parents. The Girarden family has been involved in winemaking since the 17th century in Santenay. The high quality of Vincent Girardin's wines was quickly recognized by connoisseurs worldwide, allowing him to expand his operations, focusing primarily on producing white and red wines from Côte de Beaune. To meet the growing demand for his wines, Vincent introduced a new approach for Burgundy—sourcing grapes from growers who shared his philosophy and high-quality standards. Between 1980 and 1990, Vincent's passion and curiosity led him to experiment with every winemaking technique of the time. It wasn't until the early 2000s, with the arrival of winemaker Eric Germain, that profound changes began. They decided to focus on the essence of the wines—expressing the great terroirs of Burgundy. This led to the creation of the unique Vincent Girardin wine style, now recognized by winemakers everywhere, and the Vincent Girardin collection became a benchmark of excellence.
