Terroir Al Limit
Dominic Huber discovered his passion for Mediterranean wine and culinary arts at a young age — already at 18 years old. Alongside his wine enthusiasm, he pursued education in economics and marketing, studying in London, Munich, and Madrid. A turning point in his career came in 1996 with his first internship at Mas Martinet winery (Priorat), owned by the Pérez family. This experience inspired the young specialist so much that after graduating in 2000, he returned there as a permanent employee in a general worker position. During this period, fate brought him together with Eben Sadie, a renowned South African enologist. Their friendship led to a joint return to Priorat in 2001 to assist with the harvest, and soon after, they founded their own company, Terroir al Límit. Their debut project was the wine Dits del Terra, created from Pérez family grapes. Success came quickly: in 2003, they purchased their own cellar in the village of Torroja del Priorat and the Le Toss vineyard, which was later complemented by other plots. Since 2007, Torroja del Priorat has become Dominic’s permanent home. His production has been actively growing, and the quality of his wines has been constantly improving. A striking confirmation of success was the awarding of 100 points to the Les Manyes 2016 wine by Robert Parker in 2019. After Eben’s return to South Africa, Dominic continues to single-handedly develop Terroir al Límit, paying special attention to organic and biodynamic winemaking. He is constantly expanding the range, and the success story of this winery continues to unfold.
