Tenuta di Valgiano

Tenuta di Valgiano is the result of the joint efforts of Laura, Moreno Petrini, and winemaker Servio Petrili, who purchased a 16th-century estate in the picturesque appellation of Colline Luchesi (Tuscany) in 1993.After completing restoration work in 1997, the estate gradually transitioned to organic farming, and in 2022 received certification for biodynamic production. Biodynamics has become not just a method, but a true way of life for the estate. In addition to winemaking, the estate, like a classic Tuscan farm, produces olive oil and honey, grows vegetables and wheat. However, winemaking remains the main priority. The estate cultivates both traditional Italian grape varieties and French ones — Syrah, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, which appeared here during Napoleon’s time in 1804. The grapes are hand-harvested, and fermentation is carried out with natural yeasts, preserving the natural character of the terroir as much as possible.Antonio Galloni, a renowned wine critic, has highly praised the estate’s products, describing the wines as «stunningly beautiful and refined». Each wine reflects the uniqueness of Colline Luchesi and carries the soul of Tenuta di Valgiano.
