Pieropan

The Pieropan winery was founded in 1890 in the heart of Soave (Veneto, Italy) by the Pieropan family. From the very beginning, they focused on local grape varieties - Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave - which became the foundation of their future wines. In 1971, Leonildo Pieropan made a breakthrough by releasing the first wine in Soave to specify a single vineyard - Soave Classico Calvarino. This bold move highlighted the importance of terroir. Pieropan rejected mass-production approaches, instead committing to: volcanic soils (basalt, tuff) for mineral complexity, hand harvesting and strict grape selection, aging in large oak casks (without masking fruitiness with new oak). Today, the estate is run by Andrea and Dario Pieropan (Leonildo's sons), who preserve traditions while implementing organic farming. Their wines represent the benchmark of authentic Soave. Notably, it was Pieropan who in the 1930s persuaded authorities to establish the Soave Classico zone, protecting it from commercial vineyard expansion. 130 years of history, three family generations, and uncompromising quality. Pieropan is Soave in its purest and most noble expression.
