Patrick Piuze
Patrick Piuze is originally from Canada. At the age of 18, he met Marc Chapoutier, who introduced him to the world of wine. After working on various wine projects in Australia, South Africa, and Israel and gaining his first experience in winemaking, Patrick Piuze returned to Quebec and opened the iconic wine bar Le Pinot Noir.
In 2000, Patrick moved to the heart of winemaking – Burgundy – where he began his wine career at Domaine Leflaive. Four years later, Patrick moved to Maison Verget, deepening his knowledge and passion for terroir. A year after that, already a respected and authoritative winemaker, he worked as the head oenologist for Jean-Marc Brocard in Chablis until July 2008, when he made an important decision and founded his own company.
Patrick has always been particularly meticulous in selecting terroir. He insists on only the best vineyard locations. He manages them strictly on his own. The harvest is carried out exclusively by hand, even for Chablis Village level vineyards. At his winery, he fully controls every stage of winemaking. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, and then, for aging, Patrick uses old wooden barrels.
