Lignier-Michelot
Domaine Lignier-Michelot is a family-owned winery with 11 hectares of vineyards, including Premier Cru and Grand Cru plots. The current owner, Virgil Lignier, began working at the estate alongside his father Maurice in 1988. Since 1992, the estate has been bottling its wines (previously they were sold through négociants), and in 2000, Virgil took over and first bottled the entire production independently. From the very beginning, he decided to implement changes that reflected his personal philosophy. Primarily, these involved working with the vines: introducing green pruning, plowing, and soil treatment without herbicides. He also made some modifications in the cellar—installing a grape sorting table and acquiring new barrels for aging.Lignier-Michelot wines are characterized by a harmonious combination of richness with lively clarity of expression, brightness, and energy. The cuvées from old vine harvests are particularly exceptional—very expressive and highly valued by wine enthusiasts.
