Laurent Lepitre
Laurent Lépitre is a young winemaker who has inherited a century-old family tradition in Coulommes-la-Montagne, within the Montagne de Reims region. Seeking to carve out his own identity while staying deeply rooted in family heritage, Laurent crafted his first two cuvées—"Le Levant" and "Le Couchant"—in 2017.
His vineyards, nestled between Montagne de Reims and Massif de Saint-Thierry, thrive on clay-limestone and sandy soils, cultivated following biodynamic principles—free from synthetic herbicides and pesticides. Laurent’s sustainable approach to viticulture focuses on preserving the natural environment and employing practices that respect local biodiversity.
In the cellar, he relies on natural fermentation with wild yeast in oak barrels aged at least 15 years, minimizing any external intervention. The wines mature without artificial stabilization, allowing Laurent to craft authentic and genuine Champagnes that purely express their terroir and the winemaking savoir-faire passed down to him.
By blending tradition and innovation, Laurent Lépitre creates Champagnes that can truly be called masterpieces—reflecting the unique terroir of Petite Montagne de Reims and his unwavering commitment to quality and sustainable winemaking.
