Kuhling-Gillot

The Kuhling-Gillot family estate dates back to 1970, when Gabi Kuhling and Roland Gillot got married. Their daughter, Caroline, became the successor of the family winemaking tradition. In 2002, Caroline received professional education in winemaking, graduating from the prestigious Geisenheim University (Hochschule Geisenheim University). Ten years ago, she initiated a complete transition of the family vineyards to biodynamic winemaking principles and started producing modern dry wines. A significant milestone in the estate’s development came in 2007, when Caroline married Hans Oliver Spagna from the winemaking family Domaine Battenfeld, also representing the Rheinhessen region. The same year, the couple built a modern cubic building that harmoniously blended into the estate’s architectural ensemble. Today, Caroline and Hans Oliver form a well-coordinated professional partnership, where their skills perfectly complement each other. This enables them to successfully manage the estate and develop its full potential.
