Jérôme Prévost

Jérôme Prévost is a legendary grower-producer whose name has become a symbol of exceptional craftsmanship in the world of Champagne. His story began with a modest inheritance — two hectares of vineyards passed down from his grandmother. In 1987, he founded Domaine La Closerie («home garden»), marking the start of his own winemaking journey. During the early years of his career, Jérôme sold his harvest to major négociants. However, in 1998, inspired by the advice of his friend Anselme Selosse, he made a fateful decision to start his own Champagne production, a move that proved entirely successful. The main feature of this domain is its unique 40-year-old Pinot Meunier vines, growing in a single vineyard. The limestone-rich soils are located just 5 kilometers from Reims, creating ideal conditions for grape cultivation. Jérôme Prévost’s production philosophy is unique: every year he creates just one batch of Champagne from grapes harvested in the Les Beguines plot, using exclusively Pinot Meunier. The vintage year is not indicated on the label. Special attention is paid to organic farming and vine care. Domaine La Closerie has earned recognition among true Champagne connoisseurs worldwide, as confirmed by high ratings from leading wine critics. This wine has become a true benchmark of quality and an example of how dedication to one’s craft and fidelity to tradition can create something truly exceptional.
