Fiona Leroy
Fiona Leroy's love story would be perfect for Burgundy. This vibrant, energetic woman has inspired Marange with her positivity and bright wines.Born in Paris, she realized early on that she didn't want to work for others. In search of her own path, she ended up in Beaune, working at wineries and gaining valuable experience from top specialists. In 2015, she decided to approach Jean-Yves Vantre from Domaine de Cœur Ruge, and luck was on her side—he broke his leg and was looking for help. She wrote to him, and soon she became part of the legendary estate.Jean-Yves suggested a farmer with organic plots who was about to retire. Fiona leased 3 hectares and established her own domaine in 2017, later acquiring another 3 hectares after removing diseased vines. Now she has just over 2 hectares — Aligoté, Bourgogne Ruge, Côte de Beaune, Marange, and Marange Premier Cru. She personally tends to all her vineyards and vinifies only her harvest, occasionally buying Gamay from Mâcon for experiments.Fiona speaks passionately about her vineyards in the wild part of Burgundy, surrounded by forests. She constantly learns from colleagues and masters, working almost entirely by hand. Her wines — bright, concentrated reds and full-bodied whites — reflect her energy and optimism. The small production volume makes each bottle special, filled with her passion for winemaking.
