Falletto di Bruno Giacosa

A Legend of Piedmont Winemaking Bruno Giacosa was born in 1929 into a family of winemakers in the commune of Neive, located in the heart of the Barbaresco region. From a young age, starting at 15, he learned the secrets of winemaking under the guidance of his father Mario and grandfather Carlo, the founder of the family business in 1871. The path to recognition began in the 1960s when Bruno quickly gained a reputation as one of the leading Barbaresco producers, standing alongside Angelo Gaja. He became a pioneer in creating terroir-driven wines, working with exceptional vineyards: Montefico, Rio Sordo, Albesani, San Cristoforo, and Asili. The evolution of the estate reached a new stage in 1982 with the acquisition of a plot in Falletto di Serralunga d’Alba, where a modern winery was built. Subsequently, the holdings expanded to include vineyards in La Morra, and in the early 1990s, the estate purchased its own plots in Asili and Rabajà. The production philosophy was built on impeccable quality. The master’s legacy lives on thanks to his daughters Bruna and Marina, who, together with experienced enologist Dante Scalone, preserve the unique traditions established by their father.
