Egly-Ouriet
Francis Egly, the fourth-generation representative of the family, is widely regarded as the finest winemaker on the legendary terroir of Ambonnay. Taking the reins from his father, Michel Egly, in 1980, he quickly established himself as a master of Pinot Noir and a ""Burgundian"" in his approach—both in the vineyard and the cellar.
Organic viticulture, regular plowing, and reduced yields—great wine is born in the vineyard. His Burgundian winemaking philosophy includes: ultra-gentle extraction, fermentation and aging in oak barrels, and extended lees aging for a minimum of 48 months (sometimes exceeding 100!). Egly-Ouriet is the epitome of meticulous craftsmanship, terroir transparency, and uncompromising quality.
