Domaine Richard Rottiers

Domaine Richard Rottiers is a winery established in 2007 by Richard Rottiers, a man with a rich winemaking heritage. His roots run deep in the wine tradition: Richard’s mother still owns vineyards in Chablis, and she was the one who introduced him to the art of winemaking. After completing his secondary education, Richard Rottiers dedicated himself to studying agriculture. His journey as a winemaker began with an extensive tour of the world’s leading wine regions, where he immersed himself in studying various wine production methods. Upon returning to his homeland, Richard chose the picturesque Moulin à Vent region in Beaujolais for his project — an area perfectly suited for grape cultivation. In 2007, he leased his first 3-hectare vineyard in Romanech-Torin, located near a historic windmill. The success of the winery is due to several factors: the composition of the plots and the age of the vines, ranging from 30 to 80 years. This combination produces exquisite, fresh wines that have earned Richard Rottiers recognition in the professional community. Today, Richard Rottiers is among France’s leading winemakers, and his Beaujolais has received high praise from renowned wine critic Jancis Robinson, who described it as «one of the best in the world».
