Domaine Michelet
Domaine Michelet and Jean-Claude Courtault are an example of synergy between two estates under one roof. Jean-Claude, who previously worked in Chablis, founded his winery in 1984 with the help of his wife Marie-Chantal. In 2007, their daughter Stephanie and her husband Vincent inherited 6 hectares in Petit Chablis, leading to the creation of the separate Domaine Stéphanie et Vincent Michelet. The estates operate as independent entities, sharing the winery and equipment, with management fully taken over by the younger generation since 2019. Domaine Michelet cultivates 6.8 hectares in Petit Chablis and Chablis, including 0.8 hectares of old vines in Lignorelles. The vineyards are located on steep slopes with higher-than-regional planting density. Both estates are members of the Vignerons Indépendants association, which supports small producers and promotes higher quality wines.
