Domaine de Viaud
Domaine de Viaud is a small family-owned estate on Bordeaux’s Right Bank. Located in Lalande-de-Pomerol, a so-called "satellite" appellation of Pomerol, this region long remained in the shadows despite producing wines of similar elegance, dominated by Merlot. Today, it is here that true Right Bank gems can be found—tiny estates meticulously tending their vineyards. The estate is now led by Lucette Bielle, a second-generation winemaker. In addition to their 16 hectares in Lalande-de-Pomerol, the family also owns Château Bellevue-Montaigu in the Fronsac appellation, west of Libourne. The family invests heavily in crafting and promoting their wines. Their friendship with renowned contemporary artists has led to the creation of a special "Cuvée Spéciale"—a limited-edition wine where each vintage features unique artwork on the label. Some of these collaborations have become true masterpieces, blending the worlds of fine art and winemaking.
