Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé
The history of Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé begins in 1450, when the Moisson family first acquired vineyards in Chambolle-Musigny. However, the estate received its aristocratic name through the marriage of Jeanne Moisson to Georges de Vogüé in 1766. For centuries, the domaine remained under family stewardship, but its modern reputation was forged in the 20th century by Comte Georges de Vogüé. A visionary, he recognized the potential of his Musigny and Bonnes-Mares vineyards, elevating them to Grand Cru status. In 1986, François Millet joined the estate as winemaker, ushering in a new era. He reduced vineyard yields and introduced whole-cluster fermentation. Under his guidance, Musigny Grand Cru became one of Burgundy's most coveted wines, rivaling the prestige of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. Today, Claire de Vogüé, the current guardian of tradition, preserves the estate's heritage while embracing organic practices. Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé now stands as a symbol of Burgundian perfection—where history, terroir, and human passion unite in every bottle.
