Domaine Bobinet
The history of Domaine Bobinet began in 2002 when Sébastien Bobiné inherited a wine cellar and a 1.8-hectare plot of land from his grandparents. His predecessors had retired back in 1987, but 2002 marked the beginning of a new era for the estate. From the very start, Sébastien prioritized naturalness and authenticity in winemaking, largely inspired by the ideas of Olivier Cousin. Starting with 1.5 hectares of Cabernet Franc and 0.3 hectares of Chenin Blanc, he produced his first wines in a historic cellar carved into tuffeau (limestone) on the banks of Saumur in the Loire Valley. It was there that the first outstanding wines — Amateus Bobi and Echalier — were born. His passion for experimentation led Sébastien to meet Bernard «Ponpon» Pontonnier in 2007, who introduced him to the technique of carbonic maceration. This opened up new horizons in winemaking. In 2010, the estate expanded by another 2 hectares of Cabernet Franc. Seeking to diversify his portfolio, Sébastien added Pinot d’Aunis and Gamay to his collection, resulting in the creation of the renowned wine Cot Du Rififi a Beaulieu.
