Chaume des Lies

Chaume des Lies is a young estate that began its journey in 2021. The young couple, Margot and Lothar, met in 2018 while working for Pierre Fenal. By that time, Margot already had valuable experience, while Lothar had just completed his studies as a winemaker and was also interning with renowned producers. Pierre recognized their genuine passion for the craft and the unquenchable fire in their eyes, and he helped them get started with their own project. They rented a plot from Pierre and vinified their first cuvée in his cellar. In 2022, Margot discovered an abandoned farm, which they are still restoring, and where the estate has now moved. The 2022 vintage was vinified there for the first time. Currently, the winemakers lease 4.5 hectares of vineyards across different parts of Burgundy, working according to organic and biodynamic principles. The wines of Margot and Lothar are memorable—wines you want to drink in big gulps!
