Bodegas Altolandon
Rosalia Molina is an outstanding Spanish enologist and the founder of Bodegas Altolandon. Before launching her own project, she gained invaluable experience working in France. Upon returning to Spain, Rosalia participated in the creation of the prestigious winery Finca Sandoval, owned by renowned wine expert Victor de la Serna. Enchanted by the unique terroir of Manchuela — a new appellation in the northeast of La Mancha, located on the slopes of the Iberian Massif — Rosalia chose the picturesque location of Landete for her project. Here lie Europe’s highest vineyards, situated at an altitude of 1050–1100 meters above sea level. The acquired 55-hectare estate initially included plots with old Garnacha vines. Later, Chardonnay, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec — unusual for Spain but perfectly adapted to high-altitude conditions — were planted. The cool climate of northern Manchuela, with significant temperature fluctuations, contributes to the production of vibrant, fresh wines. Today, Bodegas Altolandon is an emerging star in Spanish winemaking, adhering to strict organic principles both in grape cultivation and production. Interesting fact: Rosalia personally creates the label designs for all the estate’s wines.
