Bodega Chacra

Bodega Chacra was founded by Piero Incisa della Roca, the grandson of the creator of Sassicaia. He purchased old ungrafted Pinot Noir vines in Río Negro, establishing one of the most unique foreign projects in Argentina. The vineyards are farmed biodynamically, allowing for early harvests and high acidity—an achievement previously thought impossible in South America and characteristic of their Burgundian style. In 2016, Jean-Marc Roulot from Meursault joined the team; his mineral-driven Chardonnay quickly gained critical acclaim. The name "Chacra" means a square farm divided into four sections by channels; melting Andean snow is used for irrigation to make the desert more fertile. At the same time, adhering to biodynamic principles, "Chacra" also symbolizes an energy center—aiming to strengthen the connection between wine and the senses.
