Beyerskloof

Beyerskloof is a triumphant story that began in 1988 and, within just one generation, transformed the company into a benchmark for quality South African Pinotage. It all started with a small family farm located along the Koelenhof Road in Stellenbosch. It was there that Beyers Truiter, with his hands in the soil, planted the first grapevines, marking the beginning of the legendary Beyerskloof story. 1995 marked the birth of the first Pinotage wine from Beyerskloof, and just a year later it gained recognition by entering the prestigious Absa Top 10 ranking. Success fueled further growth: in 1997, the company expanded its holdings by acquiring 100 hectares in the prestigious wine region of Bottelary Winelands in Stellenbosch. A significant expansion occurred again in 2018 when an additional 50 hectares of vineyards were purchased, now known as «Kriekbult». This picturesque estate can be seen from the terrace of Red Leaf Bistro, where it stretches between the winery and the majestic Simonsberg Mountain. Today, the legacy continues with Henri Truiter, who, while staying true to the traditions established by Beyers, actively embraces innovation. His passion for improving winemaking techniques both in the vineyards and cellars opens up new prospects for the development of Beyerskloof and strengthens the position of Pinotage in the global market.
