Anthony Girard
Anthony Girard was born in 1990 into a family that owned vineyards in Chavignol—the epicenter of Sancerre’s finest terroirs. From childhood, he: helped in the winery, at 18, left for Burgundy to study oenology, where he fell in love with the philosophies of Leroy, worked in New Zealand, learning to embrace experimentation. In 2016, at just 26, he took over the family estate—but on his own terms: transitioned to organic farming (despite his father’s skepticism about "trends"), banned commercial yeasts—only wild ferments, uprooted old vines on flat plots, focusing on steep slopes of Monts Damnés. By 2022, he was named Top 10 Young Winemakers in France.
