Domaine de Chassorney Pommard 1er Cru Les Pezerolles 2022 750ml

The aroma is expressive, complex, and evolving. With aeration, it unfolds in waves: ripe red and black fruits — black cherry, blackcurrant, raspberry, cranberry, blackberry. Juicy ripe raspberry dominates, along with an earthy nuance of black cherry. Layer by layer, notes of rose (rose petal), peony (adding delicate refinement), then sweet spices (cinnamon, clove), black pepper, eucalyptus, mint, and even a touch of licorice emerge. Nuances of braised beef, mossy undergrowth, a "smoky bouquet" or a hint of burnt graphite, cedar, and praline. Full-bodied, lush, and airy at the same time. Surprisingly delicate, not massive. The texture is silky, velvety, almost smooth as butter, with a sleek, "glossy" structure. The acidity is refreshing and crystalline, delicate, supporting the wine with excellent balance, preventing it from being heavy. The tannins are broad yet ripe, sweetly ripe, and powdery, “tamed” by Verdet into a supple, smooth structure rather than the aggressive flesh of young Pommard. Notes of black cherry, blackberry jam, dark berries, like dried lingonberry and cranberry, which fill the mouth with volume. The finish is very long, persistent, dry, with escalating mineral, spicy, and slightly earthy notes. The finale is dominated by a hint of wild herbs (wild thyme/fennel), dark chocolate, coffee grounds, accompanied by smooth, tannic, and mineral echoes.
